Day by day

DAY 01

Tsagaan Suvarga (White Stupa)

We will pick you up from your hotel at 8am and then we head to White Stupa which is natural cliffs eroded over thousands of years with wind and rain. Even though white stupa is of beautiful pink and orange colors, it was named because of the glow appearance from distance. The cliff is 50 meters high and 400 meters wide.

DAY 02

Yol Valley

After breakfast, we head to Dalanzadgad city where we will see newly built historical museum. Afterwards, we drive further to Yol Valley that has been main attraction of tourists for many decades. Very wide at the entrance, it narrows gradually into a remarkable gorge. Also you will see the “Mukhar shivert” canyon where you will see the frozen waterfall.

DAY 03

Khongor Sand Dunes

After breakfast, we head to Khongor Sand Dunes which are the largest and most spectacular sand dunes. Also known as the "singing dunes", they are up to 300 m high, 20 km wide and about 180 km long. The spectacular dunes are bordered by lush green vegetation supported by a small river Khongor, which is fed by underground sources from surrounding mountains.

DAY 04

Flaming Cliffs

After breakfast, we drive to Flaming cliffs which has once been home to dinosaurs. Mongolian name of Flaming cliffs is Bayanzag meaning "rich in saxaul". Significant paleontological discoveries, namely first dinosaur egg, have been made there, especially by American paleontologist Roy Chapman Andrews in 1920. On the way to Flaming Cliffs, we will hike to Khavtsgait and explore the ancient petroglyphs which date back to Bronze Age.

DAY 05

Ruins of Ongi Monastery

After breakfast, we drive to Ongi monastery which is the ruin of a big monastery on the bank of the Ongiin River. Ongi monastery is beautifully located in mountains and was a Buddhist center of Gobi. At its peak, the monastery had 34 temples and housed about 1000 monks. The monastery was destroyed during the Stalinist purge between 1937 to 1939.

DAY 6-7

Orkhon Valley Ulaantsutgalan waterfall

After breakfast, we drive to Orkhon Valley which is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Central Mongolia. It is formed by the unique combination of volcanic eruption and earthquake. We will pass by Uurt cliff on our way to the waterfall. We take a walk to the Ulaantsutgalan waterfall.

DAY 8

Tsenkher hot spring

After breakfast, we drive to the Tsenkher hot spring which is located in a beautiful forested mountain valley. The 86 degrees Celsius hot spring water has curing properties for arthritic joints and other ailments. Hot spring has high pressure for flowing 10 liters per second. We will relax at the hot spring in the afternoon.

DAY 9

Kharkhorum

After breakfast, we drive to Karakorum which was one of the most important cities in the history of the Silk Road. Although founded by Genghis Khan in 1220, Karakorum’s development as capital of the Mongol Empire occurred in the 1230s under his son Ugudei. We explore Erdene Zuu monastery which was built on the ruins of Karakorum in 1586.

DAY 10

Khugnu Tarna natural reserve

After breakfast, we head to Khugnu Khan natural reserve which is the border of Gobi desert and Central Mongolia. The park is a splendid mountain with extraordinary sand dunes about 80 kilometers. The scenery is spectacular combination of desert, picturesque mountain, river and green grassland.

DAY 11

Back to Ulaanbaatar

We will have breakfast at 9am then we head to Ulaanbaatar.
